Dr. Anjanette Wyatt is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Clinical Care Pharmacy in Houston Texas. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from Texas Southern University (TSU) College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Wyatt is a community, and pharmacy advocate and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, and Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity. Her leadership experience includes serving as national president of the Association of Black Health System Pharmacists (ABHP), president of the Alliance of Independent Pharmacists of Texas (AIP), president of the North Houston Suburban Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, founder of the Texas Association of Independent Pharmacy Owners (TAIPO), and president, director, and executive director of the TSU Pharmacy Alumni Association. She has also served on the Board of Directors and Executive Boards of American Pharmacists Association Foundation, Delta Research and Educational Foundation, Texas Pharmacy Association, Texas Pharmacy Association Foundation, Gulf Coast Society of Health System Pharmacists and the National Pharmaceutical Association. She currently serves as the president of the American Pharmacists Association Foundation (APhAF). She is the first African American president in the 70-year history of the organization!
Dr. Wyatt began her career at Eli Lilly and Company in Los Angeles, California. She served as a Territorial Sales Representative and as a Regional Managed Care Representative. She went on to work as an Adjunct Professor at Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, as a staff pharmacist at Randall’s/Tom Thumb, then as a clinical pharmacist at St. Luke’s Episcopal Heath System in the world renown Texas Medical Center. She has owned and operated her independent community pharmacy, Clinical Care Pharmacy for over 19 years.
Dr. Wyatt has received numerous awards including the National Women of Achievement Profiles of Prominence Award, Top 50 Influential Women of Houston by Houston Woman Magazine, Top 30 Health, Medical and Wellness Professionals in Houston by DMARS Magazine, Top 30 Woman of Power and Purpose by The Houston Sun, Humanitarian Award by Top Women of Distinction, Who’s Who in Black Houston, the Unsung Hero Alumni Award by the University of Texas at Austin Black Texas Exes, the Texas Pharmacy Association Distinguished Service Award, Delta Sigma Theta’ Faces of Fortitude by the North Harris County Chapter. Dr. Wyatt was also honored by the Texas Women’s Empowerment Foundation (TWEF) as one of the leading National Business and Community Women in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Wyatt was awarded a City of Houston Proclamation by Mayor Sylvester Turner for her courageous efforts in the operation of the Temporary Relief Pharmacy at NRG Center during Hurricane Harvey that served over 7.,000 survivors. May 2nd was declared Dr. Anjanette Wyatt Day in Houston, Texas. In December 2018, the American Society of Health System Pharmacists awarded Dr. Wyatt with the CEO Award for Courageous Service. Dr. Wyatt was selected to participate in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program by Mayor Annise Parker. She also was selected by the Greater Houston Partnership as a Center for Houston Future Forum Leader. In 2019, Dr. Wyatt was nominated and selected as a finalist for the prestigious Pinnacle Award by the Houston Black Chamber of Commerce.
She served as a panelist for the Network for Excellence on Health Innovation (NEHI) Vaccine Summit on the Looming Challenges of COVID-19 Immunization; Preparing for the Immunization Infrastructure. She has been a speaker on COVID-19 for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Texas Exes Black Alumni Network, American Public Health Association, and was selected for the American Pharmacists Association’s CDC Workshop on Vaccine Hesitancy. Dr. Wyatt has been instrumental in securing COVID-19 Vaccines for the underserved and minority community with health disparities throughout the Houston and surrounding areas.
